10 New Specialty Restaurants Worth Visiting in Marikina


Ever heard of a jail restaurant? Well, we have one in Marikina.

Slowly, the nearby cities of Manila have grown popular for small local eateries that make the hour-long drive worth it. Marikina is one of those cities. Aside from shoes which Marikina is most famous for, being the shoe capital of the Philippines, it has also gained much popularity to local foodies for the many specialty shops that has sprouted during recent years that aren’t found in Manila.

An old shoe factory turned restaurant and events venue. Wooden furniture, shoe forms and empty bottles form part of the place’s modern and industrial design. They serve international cuisines including American, Japanese, Italian and Filipino.

Concho’s Home of Sisig Goodness – Lilac St.

Concho’s is a tiny restaurant bar specializing in sisig made of 100% pork belly and other Filipino favorites. They also feature live performances from various local bands at night . It is partly owned by OPM band Callalily frontman, Kean Cipriano.
