Being an archipelago composed of thousands of islands, it comes as no surprise that the Philippines boasts majestic coastlines and fantastic beaches. It seems as though we’re trapped in a perpetual state of summer bliss, with many of us rushing to get some sun and surf at the earliest mention of a long weekend. As early as now, it’s time to start planning your next escape!

BarLo Restaurant – Two Seasons Boracay Resort

Two Seasons Boracay Resort is a beachfront boutique accommodation located in the finest area on Boracay Island’s white-sand beach. For people who haven’t experienced Laboracay, this is one of the most popular and crowded places you’ll ever be in. Two Seasons’ beachfront restaurant, BarLo, is an island favorite because of their Four Cheese Pizza and Sizzling Oyster Sisig.

Spider House Resort – Diniwid Beach

Looking for a place to have a sunset dinner at? Then Spider House Boracay is the perfect spot for you! Besides serving fresh sushi and pizzas, Spider House also serves rice meals and other fresh seafood dishes. Pro tip: Take advantage of your stay here and jump off their makeshift diving area! They also have a floating raft nearby for your tanning needs.

Coco Mama – Station X

Coco Mama is a dessert stand specializing in vegan and dairy-free coconut ice cream. It’s topped with sticky rice, diced mango, and pinipig – all served in a coconut shell. It’s the ideal island treat! Aside from their stand in Station X, you can also find them at D’Mall Palengke.

Fun Fact: The Street Market in Station X is the first and only food hall in Boracay. It houses several unique food concepts including a Mexican, an Italian, and a Japanese joint!

Spice Bird is one of the boldest restaurants to open shop at D’Mall Boracay. Their special Piri-Piri dishes served with their homemade sauces are famous for their witty flavor descriptions.

The Gypsy’s Lair Art Cafe – Puerto Prinsesa

The Gypsy’s Lair is a hipster cafe and restaurant that serves authentic Thai cuisine, specializing in dishes like green curry, pad thai, and more. It’s not exactly beachside but we couldn’t resist including it for its nice interiors and the fact that it houses contemporary paintings by several local artists.

La Sirenetta – Coron

La Sirenetta, which literally translates to ‘Little Mermaid’, is a floating restaurant with a cozy ambiance. The menu offers Asian-Western dishes like pizza, pasta, steaks, and a few Filipino favorites like calamares, sisig, adobo, and more.

La Carinderia – General Luna

La Carinderia serves the best of Filipino and Italian comfort food. They also offer cocktails and local coffee with an Italian twist. Don’t miss their best-selling eggplant parmigiana but you won’t go wrong with any of their pasta dishes.

Insider tip: They offer a seafood grill selection every day 6pm onwards, except on Tuesdays.

Kermit – General Luna

Kermit is an Italian restaurant famous for its homemade pasta, make-your-own pizza, and buy 1 take 1 cocktails. Locals even claim it serves the “best pizza in town.” Must tries include the Pan-Seared Tuna, Kermit Pizza, Chocolate Lava Cake, and Mango Daquiri.

Tagpuan – Urbiztondo Beach

El Union is a popular cafe making rounds on our Instagram feeds. Making use of premium beans, they’re dedicated to serving only the finest-quality beverages in the North. The cafe is managed by the husband and wife team of Kiddo and Amy Cosio so try not to be too surprised if you see their three precocious kids running about – the children are part and parcel of the El Union brand!
