We’re in this together

It’s been more than a week since we’ve been required to quarantine in our homes and it’s refreshing to see the many creative ways people are coming up with to cope.

International artists have come up with a creative and comforting way for their fans all over, hosting live musical performances in their own homes and broadcasting it either on Facebook, Instagram, or YouTube; reassuring us that we’re all in this together. It’s the kind of content that gives us a little breather from all the COVID-19 news.

Here are a bunch of artists who have done live shows or are set to perform in the coming days, check them out below!

Death Cab For Cutie

Lead singer, Ben Gibbard, addressed his fans saying that he too shares with the anxiety we’re all facing and although he’s happy that necessary measures are being done to combat the coronavirus outbreak, he understands how many of us are left with feeling isolated. To help, he’s decided to perform live from his home every day at 4 PM PT, that’s 7 AM in local time.

Mandy Moore

Mandy Moore and her husband, Taylor Goldsmith, started performing on Instagram Live as well and are thinking of doing it again! You can follow her on Instagram, here, to get the latest news on when she’ll be on next.

As of this writing, she’s set to go live again on Friday, 27 March. You may also catch their pets make a special appearance!

Chris Martin of Coldplay

Coldplay’s Chris Martin went to Instagram Live and sing a handful of hits. Fans were thrilled to especially hear, “Green Eyes”, a song from way back 2002 that the band hasn’t played in their live shows lately. Chris’ live performances raise awareness on what we can do to slow down the spread of the coronavirus with the help of The World Health Organization (WHO) and Global Citizen with the #TogetherAtHome campaign. John Legend

Jumping off from friend, Chris Martin, John Legend serenaded his fans via Instagram Live then tagged both Charlie Puth and Miguel. Like Chris, their live performances raise awareness on what we can do to slow down the spread of the coronavirus with the help of The World Health Organization (WHO) and Global Citizen. Charlie Puth

Charlie Puth joined in last 18 March and reminded everyone the importance of staying home and washing your hands… and of course, performed an intimate performance. Charlie Puth is part of the #TogetherAtHome campaign wherein they use their platform to raise awareness on what we can do to slow down the spread of the coronavirus. You can read more about it here.

Keith Urban

In his home in Nashville, Keith Urban did a 32-minute set with actor and wife, Nicole Kidman, by his side. You can watch his performance here. Like Charlie Puth, Keith Urban is also doing his part also with the #TogetherAtHome campaign in raising awareness on what we can help flatten the curve of the spread of the coronavirus.

As of writing, he’s also set to perform again on 23 March, 4 PM CT which is on 24 March at 5 AM local time. You can watch him live on his Instagram here.

Niall Horan

Also part of the #TogetherAtHome initiative with Global Citizen and the WHO, our Irish crush from no other than One Direction, has joined in live. You can read more about the initiative here.

Katharine McPhee & David Foster

The couple have decided to have live performances every day at 5:30 PM PT, 8:30 AM local time. They also hint on special guest appearances (online too, of course) and you can even send them your requests too! You can send them over at fostersongrequests@gmail.com.

Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty

Captioning his videos as “Social Distance Sessions”, Rob Thomas of Matchbox Twenty shares stripped down versions of songs such as ’80s hit from Crowded House, “Don’t Dream It’s Over”.

Pink

Pink shared her rendition of Adele’s “Make You Feel My Love” on her Instagram, fondly calling it a free concert and piano lessons. You can check it out here.

Rex Orange County

Fans of Rex Orange County can tweet him for requests for his next live sessions at @rexorangecounty. You also have to note that his live videos will only be up for a limited time, really only when it’s on live so make sure not to miss out!

U2 fans were definitely in for a treat as Bono debuted a new song entitled, “Let Your Love Be Known”.

Broadway fans rejoice! THE Andrew Lloyd Webber has also joined in on the home-performances. He’s performed A Phantom of the Opera favourite, “All I ask Of You”

World-renowned Cellist, Yo-Yo Ma has also published an at-home performance dedicating it to health workers worldwide. He performed Sarabande from Bach’s Cello Suite No. 3.
