Choobi Choobi

Choobi Choobi is a seafood restaurant originating from Cebu. They’re known for serving affordable shrimp dishes, and are especially loved for their Shrimp in a Bag and their signature Stan’s Fried Black Pepper Shrimp, named after the owner.

Fun Fact: The shrimps are raised and harvested from Stan's own farm in Cebu. Talk about fresh!

The growing, family-oriented chain of restaurants puts the focus on casual, fun dining. The name Choobi Choobi is derived from a Fookien word which means “to enjoy.”

So far, they’ve opened three locations in Metro Manila: Marikina, Pasig, and last (but not the least), the branch along Panay Avenue. Choobi Choobi’s interiors are warm and welcoming thanks to its liberal use of wood and their red and gray color scheme.

Many regard Pompano as “The King of Fish.” Choobi Choobi can prepare it for you in four different ways, but Steamed in Soy Sauce is definitely the crowd favorite.

Choobi Choobi has a lot to be proud of. They have a varied menu and remarkably warm service, but the fact that they grow and harvest their own shrimp is undoubtedly what puts them a cut above the rest.

Here are just some of the many delicious shrimp dishes you can enjoy:

Choobi Choobi’s tag line “Lingaw lingaw Kaon!” was a favorite catchphrase of the owner’s great great grandfather who would often say it at the end of a great meal.

The expression roughly translates to “enjoy eating!” — which you surely will at Choobi Choobi.
