10. UP Diliman

Aside from having the infamous Academic Oval where you can walk, run, jog, or bike, UP Diliman also has key spots with outdoor exercise equipment that you can use for free such as arm push-ups, elliptical machines, single seesaw, and double seesaw. So that you’ll have a head start, among the key spots are the College of Human Kinetics and the College of Science Complex.

9. Quezon City Memorial Circle

Whether you’re into jogging, dancing, martial arts, biking, or more-gym like activities, the QC Memorial Circle has spots just for you! Every morning, there are free Zumba and Tai Chi sessions that you can enjoy. All around, there are lanes which you can use for walking, jogging or biking.

There’s an area where you and a friend can play badminton. To add, you have an area where there’s gym equipment that you can use for your workout and a playground where your kids/cousins/siblings/nephews/nieces can have fun and exercise (unknowingly) as well.

8. Track 30th

Located in the commercial business district of BGC, Track 30th offers a variety of activities that you can do to exercise and even unwind. There’s a jogging path, a meditative garden, as well as a yoga and exercise lawn.

One interesting addition that makes this park different from the others is the interactive art installations which you can use for your workout. So whether you’re in the mood to exercise early in the morning or late in the evening, no worries, the park is open from 6 AM to 10 PM daily.

7. Terra 28

If playing outdoors counts as a workout to you, then you will definitely enjoy Terra 28 at BGC. Here, there’s an urban playground and an area where you can play Filipino street games such as piko and luksong baka; it’s perfect for kids and kids at heart. However, if you’re not into those things, there are jogging paths where you can walk, jog, or run ’till your heart’s content. It’s suggested that you jog or play either early in the morning or in the late afternoon ’cause there aren’t many trees that you can use for shade.

6. Circuit Makati

With all the pollution and the hustle and bustle in the district of Makati, you probably didn’t expect the likes of Circuit Makati to exist. It’s not only a park where you can find fresh air as well as peace and quiet but you can also discover some areas where you can work out. A few of the activities which you can do that are free of charge are: jogging around the Globe Circuit Grounds, biking along Symphony Drive, and the obstacle course run at circuit lane’s upper ground level.

5. Ayala Triangle Gardens

Located in Makati, Ayala Triangle Gardens is great for joggers, walkers, runners, and pet owners alike. Their jogging paths are spacious enough and have interesting installations that you may pass by as your walking or running. To add, if you like jogging with some music, there are WIFI spots where you can take a break and download your favorite songs before you go on your merry way back to jogging or even better, to the adjacent restaurants to reward yourself for your hard work.

4. Legazpi Active Park

To all those who are in or near the Makati area, if you think that the first few parks aren’t for you, then perhaps this is the one. Located in Legazpi Village, this park has a jogging trail, a mini playground, and areas for all kinds of activities – badminton, Frisbee, yoga, Zumba, pilates. To add, right after it was renovated, joggers may also take advantage of the drinking fountains, benches, and washrooms that are placed all around the park.

3. Washington SyCip Park

For a more serene work out spot that’s perfect for meditation and yoga, go to Washington SyCip Park. Its large spaces are perfect for those who just want to walk or jog around to admire the scenery or do a little bit of bird watching – which is actually harder than what everyone thinks.

So, if you’re not satisfied with the featured parks in Makati because there are still too many people for you, head on over, you might just find yourself or even better, your perfect workout spot.

2. Luneta Park or Rizal Park

Aside from having installations to remind the Filipinos of their rich cultural heritage, Luneta Park or Rizal Park is also a place where you can take a number of martial arts classes such as karate, arnis, kai, wushu, tai chi, and hip hop, for free. Although one cannot be sure what day and time which class is, two consistent activities you can do at this park are to go kite-flying and to walk, jog, or run around the park. You can have a history lesson and a workout, what’s a better deal than that?

To all those who live near the Ortigas area, there’s a family-friendly and pet-friendly park near you where you can bring your bicycles, skateboards, volleyball, badminton, and jogging partner. Similar to other parks, Capitol Commons Park has a large space where you can play some sports or do some yoga and a path where you can jog or run.

Plus, given that it’s conveniently located right in front of Estancia Mall, you can even treat yourself and your family right after your workout.
