ICE CREAM RAMEN is the latest dessert trend to hit our social media feeds, and it’s by none other than The Dessert Kitchen. The video posted by The Insider featured The Dessert Kitchen’s New York branch.
It got us too curious that we decided to do some digging. After all, we already have the franchise in the Philippines!
The Dessert Kitchen, which opened early this year in February, is a HK dessert parlour that offers guilt-free indulgences made from wholesome ingredients. Their beautiful dessert selection includes: soft serve ice cream, parfaits, eggettes, puddings, jelly, and its award-winning Purple in Love shaved iced dessert.
Now, you won’t find ice cream ramen in their menu because there’s no actual ramen here. The noodles are actually made of KANTEN, a jelly like substance made from a seaweed called tengusa. Remember the Raindrop Cake?
The Dessert Kitchen takes the traditional Kanten to a different level by slicing it into noodle form. It is actually quite healthy containing zero fats and cholesterol.
The Dessert Kitchen's Kanten is composed of: Base - Shaved Ice + Condensed Milk Toppings - Mixed Fruits Syrup - Peach
The Dessert Kitchen offers several Kanten ‘noodle’ flavors: peach, green tea milk, kyoho, honey, and brown sugar, while the “broth” appears when the ice finally melts, and your noodles finally get a sweet, milky and fruity kick.
