Karen’s Kitchen – Kapitolyo
Karen’s Kitchen is a beautiful cafe and restaurant in a lovely home setting in Kapitolyo. It’s known for their specialty cakes, healthy meals, and afternoon tea sets.
Karen’s Kitchen started as a hobby for Karen Young as she loves to bake and started supplying for restaurants around the city back in 2000. She set up a commissary in Palm Village in 2011 and then opened up a retail store in Dasmarinas, Makati in 2011.
In 2015, she decided to open up her own place in Kapitolyo, in a restored house. Her main business first comprised of her serving some of her premium cakes and pastries, including her afternoon tea set that comes with a tray of sweet and savory treats.

Some of her guests requested for some meat and pasta, so she eventually added a selection of meals comprising of dishes like salad, crispizza, pasta, ribs, and more.
Karen Young loves to bake and cook at home, and she believes that healthy eating is to benefit our overall health and lifestyle. At her restaurant, she makes it a fun and healthy experience to somehow shift our eating habits with her good food.

A dining experience here would not be complete without an encounter with the beautiful, Ms. Karen Young. She’ll gladly share with her guests the story behind her restaurant, maybe a few facts about England and the proper way the ladies of leisure drink their tea, the key ingredients in her dishes, and more.
You might even catch her belting out a tune from Les Misérables or singing French songs like La Vie en rose!
As for the interiors, being a restored home, so stepping inside feels like visiting a close aunt as she prepares you some of her home-cooked meals. The ambience of the place is very homey and comforting – a place where a person can feel relaxed and enjoy good conversations.
Everything is vintage, from the oven as a centrepiece, the vintage kitchen tools, and even the furniture.
They regularly update their menu so instead of having them printed, you can see this chalkboard as soon you step inside the restaurant.

Most of her dishes lean towards the healthy side, but we assure you that they’re all just as tasty and worth a try!
