Make your way down south and drop the anchor in Alabang‘s modern dampa known as Market Basket. Forget the typical wet market that you’re probably imagining now, because this is a modern dampa and paluto that will serve up dishes that look like they came from a 5-star kitchen.

In a typical dampa, the market and the paluto are separate areas. Market Basket has integrated the two into a seamless hundred plus seating restaurant. The upscale dampa is homey and spacious, ideal for families and big events.
The family owned Market Basket has a kitchen staff, led by Enderun trained chef Noelle Jason, that will grant your every seafood wish. The chefs, who hail from Laguna and Bicol, will be able to whip up dishes off menu as long as they have the ingredients for it.
Insider tip: Market Basket has a large outdoor seating area for events. They also give special packages to groups.

They get daily seafood deliveries from Malabon and the ingredients they use for cooking are locally sourced. While a dampa will usually offer Filipino styles of cooking, Market Basket has some western influences and the Filipino food that they do serve comes with a twist.
