Dolcelatte

‘Dolce’ is Italian, meaning sweet, while ‘latte’ means milk.

Founded in 2008, Dolcelatte is a cafe and bakeshop serving classic gourmet meals and specialty cakes.  Primarily, it was created to cater to employees of the C&E group of companies which is also in the same building that they are in, but eventually grew into a full-service, casual dining restaurant.

Fast forward to 2013, a wave of popularity dawned upon Dolcelatte when they introduced New York’s famous  ‘croughnuts’ to Manila. (FYI: The name ‘cronut’ was trademarked by Dominique Ansel, the creator, so they had to change the spelling). In case you missed the craze, a croughnut is a crossbreed between a croissant and doughnut.

Now, Dolcelatte is yet again inviting all of us foodies to experience 6 of their newest gourmet cheese-infused dishes, collectively called the Dolcelatte Cheese Stories. Here’s what to expect:

When Cheese Met Bacon

When Cheese Met the Tomato

When Cheese Met the Onion

When Cheese Met Some Eggs

When Cheese Met the Honey

From the cheese plate down to the pasta, feel free to order everything on the Dolcelatte Cheese Stories menu if you visit with a group of 5. If you come in with less and could only order 3 items, we recommend the cheese plate, tomato baked eggs and either of 3-cheese pizza or blue cheese pasta.

Note that both the pizza and the pasta have very strong flavors because of the blue cheese. Pair the pasta and the arugula together to balance out the strong flavor.

Instantly, even inexperienced foodies would be able to recognize the premium quality in every dish despite its very affordable price points. The Dolcelatte Cheese Stories items are offered for a limited time only, but we’re crossing our fingers they make room in their already big menu for them.

But wait, there’s more! Abi Fernandez, marketing head of Dolcelatte, surprised us with 2 of their bestselling desserts. And might we say, they were the perfect endings to an already indulgent lunch.
