Oyasumi Ramen – San Juan

Oyasumi Ramen serves Yokohama Iekei Ramen. “Iekei”, which literally means house, is a Yokohama-hailed ramen variant characterized by its thick, greasy, pork-flavored, some say creamy, broth. The noodles are thick and made fresh daily. Here’s an off-menu tip: If you still got leftover soup, ask their server to turn it into cheesy risotto.

7 Flavors – San Juan

7 Flavors is an artisan bakery, a gourmet cafe and a world fusion buffet by Chef Boy Logro. The restaurant’s name refers to (1) 7 taste attributes–sweet, salty, sour, bitter, umami, spicy and astringent, which are also incorporated in the dishes and (2) 7 different world cuisines buffet for each day of the week.

The Smoking Joint – Aguirre Ave.

A grill house in Metro South that offers barbeque cooked low and slow. Aside from smoked meat and ribs, The Smoking Joint also offers sandwiches, beer, and a selection of sides.

Mr. Grahams Sandwich Shop – Tomas Morato

If you are a regular at Mrs. Graham’s Cafe, then you’ll be seeing a new shop beside it. It’s Mrs. Graham’s Mister, Mr. Grahams Sandwich Shop. It offers 3 kinds of gourmet sandwiches that come with crisps and coleslaw. Every sandwich also comes with a free macaron from Mrs. G.

Balay Dako – Tagaytay

Balay Dako offers traditional and flavorful Filipino dishes with the signature touch of Chef Tony Boy Escalante. ‘Balay Dako’, which is Negrense for big house, is set in a 3-storey house in Tagaytay where each floor will feature a specific section of the restaurant–Terrazas, a semi-open bar on the top floor; Comedor, the main dining area on the 2nd floor; and Silong, the private event area of the restaurant on the ground. The second floor dining area is the only one open for now.

Route 88 Bike Cafe – Anonas

Route 88 is a bicycle-themed café right beside LBS Glorious Ride Bike Shop, also of the same owners. The cafe offers P88-peso all-day breakfast (beef tapa, adobo longganisa, corned beef, tocino, spam & adobo flakes served with egg & steamed/garlic rice), as well as pasta, sandwiches, entrees, appetizers, coffee and soft drinks.

The Wholesome Table – Salcedo Village

The Wholesome Table  is an organic restaurant that serves comfort food opened by Bianca Araneta-Elizalde. All produce is organic and sourced locally where possible, the meat is pasture raised and ingredients are not processed or refined. Its BGC branch has been continuously on our Top 10 lists for the past months.

EASY Skate-Surf is a cafe and sports shop made by skaters and surfers for skaters, surfers and the overall sports enthusiast. The store features a curated mix of established international and local brands selling sports gear, safety, apparel, and accessories, while the cafe serves coffee from specialty cafe, EDSA Beverage Design Group.

Wildflour Café + Bakery Fort Bonifacio is bakery and cafe offering international fare and specialty breads and cakes. It’s the first purveyor of cronuts in Manila. This is their 3rd branch in the metro.

Milkcow PH – Power Plant Mall

Milkcow is a dessert cafe serving ‘the best soft serve ice cream’. This popular Korean brand only opened late 2013 but have grown so much following because of their organic ice creams and honeycomb.

Applebee’s – The Fort / Eastwood

Applebee’s is a casual diner, a grill and a bar serving big-plated American favorites including ribs, burgers, steaks and more. Expect to be served dishes similar to Friday’s or Chili’s. The first branch is set to open in BGC this July. Read our feature here.
