Pig Tales Gastropub on Booky

Tucked along Wilson street in San Juan is Pig Tales Gastropub, a casual and cozy restaurant that prides itself for its bacon-infused dishes. From the name of the restaurant itself, you’ll get an idea that most of their dishes cater to pork-lovers. And with pork, comes crispy-fried bacon.

The rustic vibe, neutral colours and the geometrically-designed logo exudes a friendly ambiance. It’s a great place for quick lunch-outs with your workmates or for excellent grub and drinks after hours with your friends.

They reinvent classic comfort food dishes, mostly with bacon. According to the owner, 80-90% of their menu consists of bacon-inspired courses, but they also want to cater to people who can’t eat meat. Because of this, they have now added a few healthier options to cater their other customers.

Buffalo Wings

Deep fried chicken wings glazed with various sauces such as Sweet Mango Barbecue, Cola Glazed, Sriracha Butter, Teriyaki Glazed, Kimchi, and Maple Bacon.

Pig Tales come out with a special country-themed menu every month; this September, it’s JapaneseThey have dishes like bacon sushi, Japadog, katsudon, and bacon-wrapped ebi tempura.

Ebi Bacon Tempura

Deep-fried, bacon-wrapped shrimp served with soy sesame and ginger slaw dip.

Warning: Be careful, there's a wooden skewer stick inside.

Bangoes

Mangoes, caramelized bacon, and chocolate syrup. This is one of Pig Tale’s signature desserts and has already gone thru a few tweaks; it’s now on its third version. This is the original one.

Pig Tales is also open for private functions. On weekdays (Monday to Thursday, and Sunday), rates start at Php 15,000; on weekends (Friday to Saturday), rates start at Php 25, 000. Just call them ahead for reservations.
