For yet another masterpiece, thank you, Todd English.

Last November, we gave you guys a list of 12 international franchises we couldn’t wait to open in Manila, and now the wait for one of them has finally come to an end.

FOODEE Global Concepts, the same people who gave us well-loved restaurants Tim Ho Wan, MESA Filipino Moderne, and Todd English Food Hall, are back with their latest concept to make waves in the Philippine restaurant industry – and this time, they’re going vintage.

POUND by Todd English

POUND by Todd English is an old school counter-style burger joint with a 1920s speakeasy vibe, taking cues from Todd English Food Hall’s ambience and quality of food that made us all fall in love. They pride themselves in using the freshest ingredients and making everything in-house, allowing us to experience a serious, fancy upgrade in the Philippines’ burger game. Not to mention, the counter-style service give guests a more personal dining experience, allowing them to immediately set their eyes on their perfectly-cooked burgers the moment they leave the kitchen. After their successful pop-up at The Red Light last month, they’ve now made their glistening beef patties and beautifully toasted brioche buns more accessible thanks to their prime location at Bonifacio High Street.

Their menu includes a wide selection of creatively thought-out burgers, but an obvious standout is the POUND Burger, which perfectly concocts together their melt-in-your-mouth homemade ground beef patties with foie gras and foie gras mousse. Their T.E. Crispy Chicken Sliders will be seen to immediately take off as well; it’s made of boneless U.S. chicken thigh lovingly brined in buttermilk, which they then deep fried and finished off with their signature T.E. sweet spice and homemade slaw, all between a buttery, toasted-to-perfection brioche bun. While you could get most of their burgers for a P155-280 peso budget, the POUND Burger goes for P999 – but all are deliciously worth the cash and extra pounds (pun intended), nonetheless.
