Habitual Coffee – Chino Roces Ave.
Well, they’re not technically new; they’ve only relocated from Ortigas to Makati. But Habitual Coffee serves single origin espresso and aeropress-brewed coffee by young, passionate and champion baristas, nonetheless so they deserve to be on this list. They also serve a limited but delightful menu of light meals.
Single Origin – The Fort
Single Origin is a new hangout spot where coffee and alcohol lovers can find common ground. Single Origin features a hefty breakfast & lunch menu, dinner menu and beverage list including specialty coffee and alcohol-based drinks.
Dipdenza Coffee – The Fort Strip
The name Dipdenza is from the Italian word ‘Dipendenza’ which means addiction. They offer a wide selection of coffee, milkshakes, smoothies, desserts and sandwiches that are sure to get you hooked. They open as early as 6:00am for the early breakfast risers.
The Washery – Industria Mall
The Washery is a quirky and modern laundromat cafe offering various laundry services with coffee and small bites on the side. This is The Washery’s 2nd branch but it is the first branch with a cafe concept.
Catabolic Cafe – Malingap St.
Catabolic Café is a third wave “coffee and comfort” concept cafe. Enjoy delicious comfort food, like their now popular Chicken Waffle, inspired by the owners’ travels, and perfectly pulled espresso using beans from EDSA Beverage Design Group.
Maillard Coffee – Corinthian Gardens Clubhouse
Maillard, pronounced as “mayar”, is a 3rd wave specialty cafe serving single origin coffee, all-day breakfast and a number of light meals. Maillard is actually a chemical reaction that gives browned (cooked, seared, fried, roasted, etc) foods their desirable flavors and that’s exactly what represents Maillard Coffee, tasty and flavorful.
Cafe Mithi – Maginhawa
Mithi, meaning dream, is a cafe and arts supply store that aims to showcase local craftsmen and their works. It also serves as a creative space to hold classes for like-minded folks. Pao also is the proud owner of Abdul the Cool in Maginhawa and Mass Starvation in Fairview. Try their signature ALAB coffee made with pure cacao tablea and siling labuyo. P.S. They have secret off-the-menu items: croc tapa and croc sisig.
Kissako Uji Matcha Cafe – Pioneer Center
Kissako Uji Matcha Cafe is a hidden and quaint little Japanese cafe specializing in all things matcha, including Japanese tea, special Horiguchi coffee, desserts and even ramen.
Satchmi – SM Megamall
Satchmi is a lifestyle cafe and a curator of functional luxury for music, photography and coffee enthusiasts. It is primarily a vinyl store, an ode to old-souled romantics. Eight Ounce Coffee + Kitchen is a gas station cafe serving all-day breakfast, pastries, desserts, freshly cooked meals like pasta and pizza, and specialty coffee blends from Douwe Egberts, Piazza Doro, Pickwick and their signature 8 oz. Cold Brew.
