Nikkei is the first Peruvian-Japanese Sushi Bar in Manila headed by Argentinan Chef Christian Cejas. “Nikkei” is Peruvian cuisine culturally inspired by the Japanese who started to migrate to Peru in the 19th century and is now becoming the latest food trend in Europe. Their menu offers Causas, Ceviches, and Tiraditos. Nikkei has lunch sets from 11am to 3pm where you can choose from their sushi set or rice sets that come with miso soup and a scoop of ice cream

Shinsen Sushi Bar and Restaurant – multiple branches

Shinsen is a homegrown local sushi bar and restaurant serving authentic Japanese food fare made with only the freshest ingredients available in the market. They have an extensive menu including sushi rolls, sashimi, Japanese steak, affordable donburi bowls, and bento lunch sets.

Char Dining – Uptown Parade

Hailing from Singapore, Char Dining PH specializes in Cantonese food with Western influences. Included in their signature dishes are the roast dishes and the Char Siew. They also offer lunch sets that come with your choice of roast meat, rice, vegetables, and soup which you can enjoy from 12nn to 2:30pm. Soru Izakaya offers a tasteful blend of after-work gastropub drinks accompanied with fresh Japanese eats. Their New Nippon Lunch Mealsas low as P299, are from Monday to Friday, from 11am to 4pm. You can choose from 5 of their lunch sets – Tori Teriyaki, Beef Misono Teppan, Pork Tonkatsu, Kushiyaki Sticks and the Nori Tempura Set.

Yabu – multiple branches

Yabu is a homegrown Japanese concept that specializes in all things katsu. Their Kurobuta Pork set is the most popular item on the menu and comes with unlimited rice, cabbage salad and fruits. They also have bento boxes for as low as P250, served with non-refillable katsu veggies, rice, fruits, shredded cabbage and miso soup. They’re available from Mondays to Fridays, 10am to 5pm. Note that it’s not available in SM Aura, Rockwell, ATC and Southmall branches.

Relik – BGC

Relik is hidden gem that’s home to some of Spanish comfort food. Relik houses live music nights, quiz nights, and offers occasional drinks promos. They also have a lunch specials menu for only P225! All classic lunch specials are served with a side dish and your choice of plain or garlic rice with free drink of the day
