Located inside a hidden container hub, Diner on 16th is a homegrown, retro-style diner that serves American breakfast staples like waffles and pancakes.  it’s also one of the first to introduce the overloaded milkshake concept in the city. It’s best for brunches and after office drinks joint by night. It’s not for oldies who have a hard time climbing stairs. True to its name, Locavore serves only locally grown and produced Filipino dishes with a French touch from Chef Mikel Zaguirre (of Taqueria 101 and newly opened Carnivalé). The open kitchen and industrial interiors adds to the modern hipster vibe of the restaurant. It’s for people who enjoy a twist to the classics. It’s not for an intimate occasion. We recommend the Sizzling Sinigang (ask for extra gravy!), Lechon & Oyster Sisig, and its underrated Ginataang Kalabasa. Little Bear is a globally inspired new wave diner focusing on a small menu of indulgent comfort food made from scratch using the best ingredients available. It’s for smaller group gatherings. It’s not for beer drinking buddies. We recommend the 24-hour belly porchetta kimchi rice and the half-baked Belgian chocolate chip cookie topped with handcrafted ice cream. Nikuya is a local concept that’s first to offer Korean grill with Japanese hotpot in one place. Nikuya, along with new restaurants like Kko Kko, Buta+Wagyu, etc.  is owned by TV personality and host, Grace Lee. It’s for foodies who love both Japanese and Korean cuisines. It’s not for people looking for sushi and other Japanese specialties. We recommend the Korean BBQ samgyupsal and karubi (boneless short rib), as well as their value-for-money shabu shabu set good for 2-3 persons. Kko Kko is a modern Korean chicken house that uses traditional and contemporary recipes that came from Grace Lee and her mom. Their menu is divided into three main categories – Korean Fried Chicken, Korean Street Food, and Dosirak (Korean lunch box) – each narrating a story about the dining setting and customs of Korea.
