Buca di Beppo is an American restaurant chain that serves Italian-American cuisine.

Buca means basement in Italian, while Beppo is a nickname for the name ‘Giuseppe’, which is the Italian spelling for ‘Joseph’. Put together everything, Bucca di Beppo translates to “Joe’s Basement” in Italian.
The restaurant chain is known for its vintage setting with old photographs hung on the walls and restrooms with recorded ambient sounds of men and women laughing and conversing with each other in Italian.

The name of the first ever restaurant was Buca Little Italy and was located at an apartment building in Minneapolis back in 1993. After 5 years, it was renamed as Buca di Beppo.
All branches of Buca di Beppo has a ‘Pope Table’, the largest round table you can find in the room with a sculpture of the pope as its centrepiece.
The restaurant takes on a family-style dining concept, where all of their dishes are good for sharing. Their recipes were handed down from many generations by Italian immigrants.

Create Your Own Pasta
At Buca di Beppo, you have the freedom to create your own pasta!
Step 1: Pick pasta - spaghetti, linguine, penne, rigatoni or cavatappi. Step 2: Pick sauce - marinara, alfredo, garlic olive oil, rosa, pesto or meat sauce. Step 3: Choose Veggies - (up to three) diced roma tomatoes, sun-dried tomatoes, roasted red peppers, artichokes, sautéed mushrooms, broccoli, spinach, green peas or sliced red onions. Step 4: Pick protein - chicken, prosciutto, meatballs, spicy sausage or mild sausage. Step 5: Season it - Add a pinch or a handful of crushed red pepper and/or poached garlic.
