Book a table and get P300 off!

Restaurants with long histories and heritage stories are few and far between. One treasure we’ve recently uncovered in Quezon City first opened over 70 years ago.

Casa Marcos

Casa Marcos opened it’s doors for the first time in 1945. They featured a casual Spanish menu and selection of wines. After sixty years of operating, the owners put the restaurant on hold.

This pause didn’t last too long because the grandchildren of the original owners partnered up to bring Casa Marcos back to life in 2013. Last September, they partnered with Baguio Craft Brewery giving the restaurant a new life.

The revamped restaurant now has an added selection of tapas and appetizers that are perfectly paired with the craft beers that they have on tap.

The old Casa Marcos had a very casual vibe but their rebirth took a turn and the restaurant became a gastropub. Dark, speakyeasy-esque interiors, a long bar table, and dramatic Edison lightbulbs are what will welcome you at Casa Marcos today.

Their main clientele made a shift as well. The restaurant is over 70 years old so, naturally, they used to get a lot of old folks. Today, some of the Casa Marcos vets still visit the place, but the restaurant is brimming with a younger crowd looking for good tapas, comforting Spanish food, solid craft beers, and a very chill vibe.

Probably the most unique thing about the new Casa Marcos are their beer and tapas pairings. After their partnership with the Baguio Craft Brewery took off, the pairings have become their holy grail. From the sweet, savory, or zesty flavors of the food to the varied notes and profiles of the beer, every pairing is a match made in heaven.

Back in the day, Casa Marcos sauce (which goes great with the Tapang Baboy Damo, btw) was bottled and sold. Nowadays, they’re keeping the good stuff to themselves and only serving the sauce at the restaurant. The sauce is a family recipe from the 1940’s.

Baguio Craft Brewery has a total of 65 crafts beers. At any given time, 15 of those are available in Baguio and 10 of them in Casa Marcos. They rotate the beers they have on tap so everyone gets a taste of the good stuff.

Casa Marcos has a lot of history behind it and they’ve quite elegantly kept with the times. Drop by to appreciate the heritage, family recipes, and a good old beer.
