Tori Chizu – SM Megamall

Tori Chizu combines East and West, offering various flavors of cheesy baked rice. Their best-selling Doria, or Japanese baked rice gratin, is freshly prepared as soon as you order! Pair it Japanese-style Fried Chicken or Hambagu steak!

Ooma – SM Megamall

Ooma offers bold and modern Japanese fare. The restaurant was born out of a collaboration between The Moment Group and Chef Bruce Ricketts, one of Manila’s youngest and brightest chefs who happens to specialize in traditional and fusion Japanese cuisine. Must-tries include their Uni Udon, Soft Shell Crab Taco-Maki, and Hanger Steak.

Ramen Jiro – High Pointe Medical Hub

A restaurant in Mandaluyong city with minimalist interiors, you’ll be glad to know that Ramen Jiro’s food is anything but simple and plain. They’re known best for their tonkotsu broth ramen which is undoubtedly flavorful!

Ramen Daisho – Shaw Blvd

Ramen Daisho was one of the first ramen joints to open in Mandaluyong City and has since cemented its place as one of the go-to Japanese restaurants in the area. Their Hakata Tonkotsu Chashu-Men features straight Hakata-style noodles in a rich and milky pork bone broth. It’s also got fried onions and a generous amount of chashu!

Ikkoryu Fukuoka – Shangri-La Plaza

Ikkoryu Fukuoka Ramen offers a wide selection of Hakata-style tonkotsu ramen. Ippudo is a popular franchise which originated from Japan’s ramen capital, Hakata. This beloved restaurant is famous for their tonkotsu-based ramen. Theirs is a broth with a light pork flavor. Equally worth the wait are their Pork and Karaage Buns.

Yabu – SM Megamall

The one that started it all. It’s safe to say that Yabu was one of the first joints in Metro Manila to purely specialize in katsu. Since its opening in 2011, this homegrown restaurant has proven that excellent customer service and consistent food quality can go a long way in the industry. Apart from Katsu, other must tries include their Gyudon and Salmon Donburi!
