Tsujiri – S Maison

Founded in 1860, Tsujiri is a Japanese matcha brand from Uji Kyoto, Japan that has been around for over 155 years. It was first established by Riemon Tsuji who had a mission of improving the tea industry by using the finest quality of Uji matcha and Gyokuro tea leaves.

Riemon even devised a tea cabinet with the main purpose of keeping the tea leaves fresh longer, in order to sustain and continuously provide high quality matcha to the market.

Because of his well-recognized efforts, the people were so impressed that they decided to build him a statue in Byodoin – Kyoto’s world heritage temple.

Tsujiri’s Green Tea

The brand’s philosophy never falters as they are always striving to provide the best quality of matcha by selecting the finest green tea leaves and using the traditional grinding method in bringing out the fresh aroma and original flavor.

Fun fact: In case you didn't know, green tea comes with a lot of health benefits such as being an anti-cancerous agent, rich in Vitamin A, E, and C, and even Catechin - an antioxidant that helps in burning calories.

Although they are not the first one to offer matcha in Japan, they are considered to be the most successful one that when you ask Japanese locals where to get matcha, they’ll immediately point you to Tsujiri’s direction.

In order to keep up with the modern times, Tsujiri has branched out in other products by offering unique drinks and desserts to the market. They are the pioneer of matcha desserts, offering treats like parfaits, shaved ice desserts, milk floats, chiffon cakes, and so much more. Check them out!
