No Koomi? No problem!

We are all obsessed with Koomi’s natural and super flavourful yogurt drinks and quite frankly, many of us would very much want a sip of their heavenly concoctions during these trying times but for our own good, malls are closing and we are advised to stay home unless absolutely necessary to go out.

To help you with quarantine woes, you can try out these yogurt-drink recipes to get you closer to that Koomi taste and also keep you busy if you aren’t already!

Mango Yogurt Drink

Not to be biased but Philippine Mangoes are the best so it’s a shame if you don’t try out this recipe out if you have some mangoes on hand.

Here’s the recipe from MarthaStewart.com,

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mango, peeled, pitted, and chopped
  • 1 cup low-fat plain yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons sugar (but to get it closer to Koomi, we suggest using 2-3 tbsp honey instead
  • Ice cubes, for serving

Directions

Grab a sieve and your blender.

The sieve is to remove the pulp but you can skip this step. Afterwards, combine all the ingredients, the mango, yogurt, and sugar plus add 1/2 cup of cold water. Blend and serve immediately over ice!

Banana Yogurt Smoothie with Honey

Yogurt and honey are definitely good and healthy on its own but this recipe takes it up a notch by adding banana! If you have ripe bananas at home, grab it and freeze prior (you can skip this step but freezing the fruits prior reduces the need for ice therefore, maintaining more flavour).

Here’s the recipe from Cooking Perfected,

  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 tsp vanilla essence

Directions

Get your blender and add all the ingredients, bananas, milk, yogurt, vanilla, and the honey.

Blitz until there are no more bumps then serve.

Healthy Cookies & Cream Smoothie

As the recipe states, this could function both as a breakfast drink and a healthy dessert! This is a bit more complicated as it has more ingredients than the previous recipes but worth a try!

You can add these yogurt brands to your “Must-Try” lists to try when this quarantine is over!

Freeze! We know the heat outside is reaching an all time high, but it’s about to get a lot worse. It’s the perfect time to bring back a fad that took over our spoons and made summer a whole lot funner: enter the frozen yogurt.
