The restaurant that started it all. It’s safe to say that this is one of the first joints in Metro Manila which purely specializes in katsu. ROKU Sushi+Ramen – Katipunan
Roku is a casual dining Japanese restaurant that specialize in sushi + ramen. They also offer other Japanese favorites like gyoza, donburi, and dessert freshly prepared daily.

Katsu Sora differentiates itself from its competitors by offering a full salad/soup bar for its customers. Hooray for a buffet style setup that even kids can enjoy!

Maisen is considered to be one of the best tonkatsu restaurants in Japan and it is now available in Manila. Co-owner Ben Chan’s Suyen Corporation is known for bringing good and affordable international food franchises in the country like St. Marc Cafe and Paul Boulangerie.
Special curry restaurants have now awakened several curry-loving fans in the country and one of them is Coco Ichibanya. Their thick and crispy tonkatsu is made even better with their savory curry sauces. Careful, their spicy curry is not for the faint of heart.
Mr. Roboto – Alabang
Mr. Roboto is the newest modern Japanese spot to hit the South. It features re-envisioned classics, putting new twists and playful plating on traditional Japanese flavors. Yayoi – various branches
Yayoi is a Japanese franchise dedicated to Teishoku set meals. Popular sets include the fried chicken steak, sukiyaki, unajyu and saba. We recommend the Katsu Toji Jyu, deep-fried pork loin simmered in house special sauce and eggs, placed over rice and served with a bowl of miso soup. If you’re a chicken lovers, try the Wafu Chicken Katsu Jyu. Golden fried chicken sits on a bed of nori flakes on top of Japanese rice. It also comes with a bowl of miso soup and Japanese pickles.
