You know how a typical Filipino celebration works — a ton of local dishes spread out on a table, guests who are either your relatives or neighbors (and sometimes even the whole baranggay), and a long line on the karaoke machine to liven up the party.
Pancit (for long life) and lumpiang shanghai are staples on every Filipino handaan. Can you really call it a party without these two sumptuous dishes?

Because Filipinos love pancit and lumpia so much, Max’s Restaurant has created an arrangement that combines both. Max’s Pancit-Lumpia Cake comes in two variations.
The Pancit-Lumpia Cake A is a grand cake that features two kinds of lumpia — lumpiang shanghai and fresh lumpiang ubod. The lumpiang shanghai pieces serve as a delicious wall for the bowl of pancit canton inside. Max’s pancit canton is made of sauteed vegetables, chicken meat and balls, shrimps and garnished with chopped spring onions.
If the pancit and lumpia are still not enough, the bottom of the cake is a gorgeous bed of breaded fish fillet. This one is good for seven to eight people.
The Pancit-Lumpia Cake B is much smaller and comes with an optional side of breaded fish fillet or caramel bars. It is good for four to six people.
