Karen’s Kitchen is a bakery and cafe offering premium cakes and pastries by home baker Karen Young. Among her bestsellers to date are the Red Velvet Cake, Chocolate Ganache and Carrot Cake. This is its 2nd branch in the metro.
Foodever21 – Makati
Foodever21 is a small streetside burger eatery known only to its nearby Makati population. It serves affordable, 100% homemade beef patty burgers overloaded with toppings and sauces, pastas, rice meals, sizzling plates and sandwiches. While no one seems to be able to find forever these days, Foodever21 guarantees forever with their food, located on 21st Ave., East Rembo; hence their name.

Smokin’ Cues, from the same group behind Bawaii’s Katipunan, ventures into the rustic world of barbecues. It currently offers 6 of the most popular bbq specialties from around the globe including the Filipino inihaw bbq, Japanese yakitori, Thai chicken satay, American Kansas-style pork belly and beef short plate, and the Moroccan pan-grilled dory.
New York Pinoy Deli (NYPD) – Resorts World Manila
NYPD is a new 24/7 buffet concept restaurant headed by Chef Angelo “Chubby” Timban, whose track record in the hotel industry is unprecedented. At NYPD, he brings the exquisite flavors of both New York City and Manila into each dish, such as the chicken inasal burger, laing lasagna, tinapa pasta and more.
Moonshine P.U.B. – Ortigas Center
Moonshine is a casual and relaxed bar serving signature cocktails and comfort food from the same creative culinary team behind Tipsy Pig Gastropub. It is best known as a choice venue for the after-office crowd in Makati where its first branch is located.
Gyoza and Ramen House – Malingap St.
Gyoza and Ramen House is a casual restaurant specializing in 3 Japanese specialties, gyoza, ramen and cha-han. But unlike other Japanese restaurants, their gyoza comes in different flavors including classic, chili, spinach, curry, shrimp and more. Their menu also includes donburi rice bowls, other side dishes and desserts.
Zark’s Burgers – SM Southmall
Zark’s used to be just a university burger joint with a 20 sqm shop in Taft, Manila opened by then 21-year old Zark in 2009. Today it has expanded to almost 10 all-company owned branches serving their famous greasy and gigantic burgers. Their burger eating challenge is a must try and must see attraction as well.
Crepeman – Katipunan
Crepeman is a dessert cafe offering freshly-made and crispy sweet and savory crepes. It has grown from one kiosk selling at a local night market in 2003 to more than 15 owned and franchised cafes/kiosks in and out of Manila today. They also serve frappes, hot and iced coffee, milkshakes and smoothies.
The Wholesome Table – Estancia Mall
The Wholesome Table is an organic restaurant serving healthy and guiltless comfort food and smoothies. All produce is sourced locally where possible, meat is pasture-raised and ingredients are not processed or refined. It is owned by supermom and health advocate, Bianca Araneta-Elizalde. This is its 3rd branch in the metro.
El Jefe – Mandaluyong
El Jefe, which is Spanish for chief or boss, is one of the newest vendors to open at the The Food Cathedral, a modern food court in Mandaluyong. It offers authentic Mexican street food including tacos and burritos.
Pastry Armoire – BF Homes
Armoire (from the word ‘Armoire’ which means cabinet or wardrobe) is a bakery and cafe housing gourmet products from notable chefs led by Chef Anna Chua. The most popular items on the menu are the different flavored sticky buns. Chef Anna is also the creator of Pink Wasabi, the brand fronting her famous Kashi Makis or sushi cakes.
Chubs Chasers – Visayas Ave.
Formerly known as Chubs Steak at Manok, Chubs Chasers is the same casual Filipino-American diner serving their signature Divine Steak and Carvilicious Chicken, but with an expanded menu that includes ribs, burgers, pastas, desserts and other entrees.
Unit 27 Apartment Bar + Cafe – The Fort
Unit 27 is an all-day brunch cafe and house party by night concept restaurant. It offers modern Western comfort food by Chef Francis Tolentino of The Lake House District in Tagaytay.
