At first glance, you might think ‘yup, it’s a hotel restaurant’ but upon closer inspections, you’ll find that the restaurant’s interiors look quite like a modernized Philippines as well.

The beige and gold interiors are reminiscent of the golden brown nipa hut while the decorated light fixtures bring you back to images of the hard-working farmers protected from the tropical sun only by rattan hats.

Owner Edison Lo, who has been in the food business for over a decade, started out with a small cafeteria that grew into a catering business until finally, the opportunity to realize one of his dreams and put up a brick and mortar landed in his hands.

Upon realizing that the Filipino’s palate was getting more and more adventurous, Lo wanted to cater to this creative taste and thus the idea of creating a modern Filipino menu came into fruition. By introducing new flavors to old favorites and vice versa, Ombu Kusina is providing us with an entirely new dining experience.
