Pampanga is the “Culinary Capital of the Philippines” so if you and your friends are planning to head out to the North anytime soon (i.e. Holy Week), better get your game face on and rumbling tummy ready because a gastronomic feast awaits you in your journey to the land of Manyaman! That means delicious.

Estos Kitchen + Cafe

Since opening in March last year, Estos has grown to be one of Pampanga’s go-to places to wine and dine. They’re known for their delicious pizza with unique flavors like shawarma or spinach artichoke. Don’t miss the beef tenderloin with chimichurri sauce – it’s served with umami rice, egg yolk, and finished with a sprinkling of sesame seeds. For dessert, you have to try their homemade Taho ice cream!

25 Seeds made its home in the Dycaico Ancestral House, an abandoned mansion that was built in the 1920s. Owner and chef, Sau Del Rosario restored the place to its original grandeur, giving it a modern homey feel. People come from far and wide to enjoy Chef Sau’s farm-to-table restaurant. Here, you can enjoy dishes inspired by the East (like Duck Mango Soba with Bok Choy) and the West (like South of France-style Seabass en Papillote).

Insider Tip: You can reserve the bedroom and original dining room for private parties!

Soo Hyang Restaurant

Soo Hyang Restaurant and Café is a Korean restaurant in Clark. They serve traditional dishes in a modern industrial setting. Specialties include their Japche, Haemul Pajeon, and Whole Roasted Duck which takes 3 hours and 15 minutes of cooking time. For dessert. they offer everyone’s favorite Pat-Bingsoo! 

Insider Tip: Call four hours ahead if you want to enjoy the Roasted Duck without the wait!

Wooden Table

If you’re going to have “lutong bahay,” there’s no place better to enjoy it than in Pampanga – culinary capital of the Philippines. Wooden Table is one of the places in Angeles City where you can enjoy boodle fights and other traditional specialties like laing, crispy pata, or lechon manok.

Binulo Restaurant – Clarkfield

Binulo is best known for serving authentic Capampangan cuisine and US grilled steaks. Signature dishes include the Paco Salad (fiddlehead fern), Pangat na Ulang (fresh water shrimps in creamy sour broth, served from a bamboo), Binulong Nasi, and Binukadkad na Hito. Save room for their Suman with Mango ice cream dessert. Fun fact: ‘Binulo’ is the Aeta method of cooking food in fresh bamboo.

L.A. Bakeshop – San Fernando

From a simple bakery at the San Fernando public market in 1985, L.A. Bakeshop has grown popular for its freshly-baked Cheese bread and Spanish bread that is best paired with a hot cup of Tsoko Batirol or Kapeng Barako. Recommended meals that you should also try are the Coco’s Special Fried Rice and Pancit Maya.

Denlim’s Kitchen – San Fernando

Denlim’s Kitchen is a private dining kitchen and experience showcasing Chef Dennis Lim’s home cooked style cooking. Due to limited space, Denlim can only accommodate around 24 guests each night, so reservation is a must! It offers a 7-course degustation with appetizing dishes such as the 5 Cheese Baked Mussels Casanova, Beef ala Dione, Shrimp Elena, and their best-seller, Pugon Liempo Wrap.

Café Fleur – Angeles

Café Fleur by Chef Sau del Rosario serves Kapampangan dishes with a French twist. The place exudes a homey vibe and is the perfect place to enjoy great Tamales Pampagueña, a traditional kakanin in Pampanga, Pinoy Caesar Salad, Buro and Hito, Pandan Sansrival and Salted Egg Bibingka Cheesecake.

Rainforest Kichene – San Fernando

Rainforest Kichene is a quaint forest-inspired restaurant by Chef Vince Garcia that advocates a healthy and green eating lifestyle. Must tries include the signature seafood paella, salt-crusted lechon liempo, and hefty steaks. ‘Kichene’ is an old English word for kitchen.

Didi’s Pizza – Angeles

Didi’s Pizza has been around serving Filipino-style pizzas since the 1970’s; they use sweet tomato sauce and locally produced cheese. Unlike your regular round pizzas, Didi’s Pizzas are rectangular. Try their Combination Pizza, the Pizza Burger, their spectacular Barbeque Ribs and Pancit Canton!

Matam-ih – Clark Freeport Zone

Matam-ih, meaning ‘delicious’ in Aeta dialect, is known for their authentic Kapampangan cuisine and unique dining experience. The servers are all Aetas and they go by the names of popular celebrities like Regine Velasquez, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, etc. Exotic and traditional regional dishes are served.

The Souq Pampanga – Lazatin Boulevard

SOUQ, which is Arabic for marketplace, houses a number of food vendors that serve different specialties such as the Pritong Adobo, Fire Cracker Belly, Seafood Platter in Aligue Sauce (crab fat) and the caramel-filled Palitaw. It is also a place for furniture finds.

Susie’s Cuisine – SM City Clark

Susie’s Cuisine specializes in Pampango kakanin since 1972, some of its signature treats are the Mochi (sticky rice with bean paste filling served with coconut sauce), Maja Blanca and Leche Flan. Aside from these, one should never leave Susie’s without trying their Palabok.

Downtown 1956 Cafe by Bale Dutung – Angeles

Downtown Cafe is the laid back casual sister of the original Bale Dutung restaurant by Claude and Mary Ann Tayag. It serves Kapampangan dishes with a twist like the Pork Adobo Confit, Bringhe Pizza and Lechon Tacos. For dessert, try Claude’s famous buko pandan and halo-halo with crema de pastillas.

Aling Lucing Sisig – Angeles

Home of the first ever Sisig, Aling Lucing’s Sisig originated in the 70’s when Lucia Cunanan decided to concoct a dish involving a pig’s head, because they remain unused by the U.S. Air Force personnel. Since then, she has been dubbed as the ‘Sisig Queen’.
