An affordable Italian food experience.

Parmigiano Italian Kitchen

With the rise of the new era of food establishments here in Manila, it’s sometimes hard to spot a restaurant that has all of the essential factors–taste and presentation of food, quality of service, ambiance and overall value for money. Nowadays, “authentic” has become synonymous with “expensive”; unfortunately quality does come with a price tag. But it’s not the case for Parmigiano Ristorante Pizzeria, one of the underrated Italian restaurants in Manila serving authentic Italian food, for less.

What is Parmigiano? Or Parmigiano-Reggiano, but we know it as parmesan cheese. It is considered as the ‘King of Cheeses’ and hails from the Italian provinces of Parma, Reggio Emilia, Bologna, Modena, and Mantua. Parmigiano-Reggiano is made from unpasteurized cow’s milk and takes more than a year to age in wooden case wheels stocked inside maturing rooms.

Fun fact: One circular case of Parmigiano-Reggiano uses about 600 liters of milk!

Parmigiano serves steaks, carpaccio, caprese, ravioli, and risotto, but is really best known for their handmade pastas and signature Napoletana-style pizzas–brick oven-fired, thin crust, crisp edges and chewy middle. Choose from 24 varieties of tomato or white-based pizza flavors. The Calamari Nero, Spaghetti Carbonara, Spaghetti Al Granchio and the Frutti Di Mare are the crowd favorites.
