Food markets are the best places to hangout with friends because it’s kind of like a food court minus the fast food options. Pioneer St. Market in Mandaluyong is just that and many more because it is conveniently located beside the bargain warehouse, HMR Philippines. What we like most about it (besides the food) is that it has really cool air conditioning so it’s the perfect quick escape from this summer heat! So here’s the quick rundown of the food stalls inside Pioneer St. Market.

Soul Potato

Soul Potato specializes in, well, potatoes! Their huge platters like their bestselling Crispy Chicken Cheese Melt comes with a side dish of your choice like herbed mashed potatoes, fresh cut fries, or seasoned fries.

Current Swell

Current Swell is a local micro-roastery that offers international and local specialty grade coffee–everything in small batches to ensure quality and freshness. Itserves not only caffeinated drinks, but also hot plates like Spanish poached eggs, Monte Cristo, Shakshouka, Butterscotch Apple Pancakes, and Carbonara Parmesan.

Thirsty Turtle

Thirsty Turtle was the brainchild of a group of students from DLSU for their entrepreneurship thesis. They serve fresh fruit and vegetables shakes for your healthy and “diet” days.

Tramezzino

Tramezzino is Italian for “sandwich” and this joint serves freshly-pressed paninis and pastas. Their bestsellers include their chicken and steak paninis. Pasta plates are also available.

Bad Apple

Blogger and entrepreneur Krystle Dizon is the genius behind this homegrown dessert stall. Bad Apple is famous for its caramel dipped green apples with different toppings like sprinkles, pretzels, and their bestselling apple pie flavor.

The Belly Good Roast Beef

This beef carving station uses only USDA Prime Beef in all its dishes. You can order your tender roast beef with a siding of your choice like kimchi rice, mashed potatoes, or mixed vegetables.

MexiJunction sells traditional Mexican snacks like burritos, quesadillas, tacos, and nachos. Try their 10″ Beef Burrito and soft tacos.

Alejandro’s

Alejandro’s is a simple pasta place that offers two dishes: spaghetti bolognese and sweet style spaghetti. Their cashew sansrival is a must-try dessert as well. Booky Tip: You can purchase their sauces by the bottle!

Monster Burger

Monster Burger is a grill joint that specializes in burgers (they use only Australian beef patties) and other unique concepts of the beef patty. An example of this is their Sinigang Burger.

Auntie May’s

Auntie May’s serves homemade dishes made from original recipes. Their bestsellers include the angus salpicao, ginataang kuhol, and the U.S. Beef Tapa. Booky Tip: Want their goodies to go? Auntie May’s also sells their frozen marinated meats for those who want to cook their share at home.

We seriously can’t believe that all of that good food is under one roof! Take note that the Pioneer St. Market is located along Pioneer Corner Reliance St. in Mandaluyong and is closed on Mondays. It is open from 10:00 am – 9:00 pm (Tue-Fri) and 9:00 am – 9:00 pm (Sat-Sun). A secure and gated open parking space is available inside the compound.
