Healthy and delicious, too!

Poke  /pou’kei/, which means “to slice or cut”, is a popular Hawaiian appetizer made from raw fish (usually salmon or ahi tuna), vegetables, and rice.

Poke is considered a go-to comfort food in Hawaii and no gathering is considered complete without it. The craze has crossed seas; here in Manila, we saw the trend gain traction in 2016.

Since then, a number of restaurant have started to offer the healthy fast-food dish. You can go crazy with additional toppings like edamame, avocados, and tobiko (fish roe), then top it off with some soy sauce. It’s basically a sushi bowl on steroids.
