Ramen love with you. 

Few things are more comforting than a hot bowl of ramen on a rainy day (₱20 ramen is one of them). I guess you could say we’re all hopeless ramen-tics!

In this list, we round up some of our favorite ramen joints in the city— a mix of reliable favorites, as well as new classics. No matter the weather, these bowls of ramen always hit the spot!

Ramen Nagi – various branches

Ramen Nagi is one of the most popular ramen joints in the country. Nagi’s “King” bowls come in different flavors (and a variety of unique colors!) like the Black King (squid ink), the Red King (spicy), and the Green King (pesto). Of course, their basic Butao King still takes the prize for most diners. They also serve seasonal and limited edition flavors like truffle ramen!

Taisho Ramen – SM North Edsa

Serving a variety of Japanese dishes such as their best-sellers, their Ramen bowls, Taisho Ramen is a restaurant that has interiors that mixes the traditional and a fast-food Japanese feelIt’s for those who want a hot bowl of Ramen after walking around the air-conditioned mall. It’s not for those who want to go on a really fancy date. We recommend their Karaage, Karamen/Chamen, and Rocky Roll Maki.

Oyasumi Ramen – San Juan

Oyasumi Ramen prides itself in serving the traditional Iekei Ramen, which traces its roots from the streets of Yokohama, Japan. Local flavors like the La Paz Ramen (La Paz Batchoy) and specialty flavors like the Truffle and the Tomato Ramen are offered. 

Insider tip: Got leftover soup? Turn it into cheese risotto for only P60! Just ask your server.

Ippudo is one of the most popular Japanese ramen franchises in Manila, it serves authentic Hakata-style ramen. Their best selling Shiromaru Atoaji is the perfect example of simplistic goodness in a bowl. Watch out for seasonal specials!

Gokinjo — Marikina

Gokinjo is Marikina’s neighborhood hotspot for all things Japanese. You’ll find favorites like ramen, tempura, sashimi, and curry at this casual restaurant. If you’re really hungry, get ready to say ‘itadakimasu’ because they offer UNLIMITED RAMEN (P399), shabu-shabu, yakiniku, and Korean barbeque.

Fun fact: 'Gokinjo' is Japanese for the word, 'neighborhood'.

This ramen house from the South serves the noodles with fresh vegetables and tossed in black sesame dressing. You can also their other salad ramen flavor, the Kani Salad Ramen (cold ramen, shredded kani, mentaiko dressing).

Mitsuyado Sei-Men is an international franchise by the UCC Group and is widely known as ‘The House of Tsukemen‘ (or ‘dipping noodles’). Its interiors are reminiscent of old town Japan. It’s for people who love thick noodles and cheese.
