I love you, sisig! Oops, I mean, Dad!
It’s not Father’s Day without a platter of sizzling, savory, sinful sisig for tatay! This Pinoy classic is number #1 in many dad’s hearts, mainly because of the delicious mix of pig head, liver, and chicharon, that’s seasoned with calamansi, soy sauce, and chili peppers! It’s the best ulam to pair with mounds of rice and the perfect pulutan to an ice-cold beer.
For dad’s special day, we’re giving you a list of classic sisig dishes as well as unique sisig twists that tatay, papa, lolo, and daddy will surely love! But remember, watch out for your blood pressure!
Fun fact: Lucia Cunanan of Aling Lucing's Sisig in Pampanga decided to concoct a dish involving a pig’s head, because they remain unused by the U.S. Air Force personnel. Since then, she has been dubbed as the ‘Sisig Queen'.
