Try out these fast and easy ways to lose weight

It’s true when they say that “your body is a temple“, but it’s also true that we don’t always have the time we want to take care of that temple. After all, between work, traffic, family, and friends, it can almost feel impossible to find the time to get that good workout in.

So, what do you do then when you want to work out but don’t seem to have the time? Well, maybe it’s time to start rethinking your workouts! Workouts don’t have to be grueling, hour-long, sweat-drenched marathons that you plan your day around; they can be quick, convenient sessions that you can squeeze in anytime and anywhere!

Body Weight Circuits

Body weight circuits might sound complicated, but they’re actually pretty simple and easy to do! Circuits are a set of exercises that you do in a round, with the goal of completing as many rounds as you can within the set time limit. “Body weight” simply means that instead of using dumbbells or other gym equipment, you just use basic body weight exercises.

Still not sure how it works? Don’t worry, you’ve probably already done one of these without even realizing! A sample circuit would be a round of 5 dips, 10 push-ups, and 15 squats- with the goal of completing as many rounds as you can in under 20 minutes.

The great thing about circuit training is that the workload adjusts to your performance. Since the goal is to get as many rounds done in a set time limit, your circuits will always last the same time, no matter the intensity! So, if in the beginning you can only do 3 rounds in 20 minutes, as you get better, you’ll be able to do more rounds in the same amount of time. The time commitment stays the same while your fitness level keeps on going up!

High Intensity Interval Training

More commonly known as HIIT, High Intensity Interval Training is a method of training that’s characterized by short bursts of high-intensity exertion followed by intervals of rest. This type of training creates a metabolic reaction that helps your body burn through fat at a high rate, despite spending a much shorter time exercising.

Learn More About HIIT

So what does this all mean for you? This means that you no longer have to go jogging around the village for over an hour to burn off that day’s heavy lunch. Instead, you could do 4 to 8 minutes of HIIT and achieve similar results!

How exactly do you do HIIT? Well, you could do it for most cardio exercises, but, for this example, let’s stick with running. Beginners could start doing sets of 10-second sprints followed by a restful (but still active!) 20-second brisk walk in alternating order until you hit your set time. As you progress and get used to HIIT, you can slowly increase your “sprint” interval while decreasing your “rest” interval to keep it challenging.

Core Workouts

If all else fails and you really can’t find a 30-minute or so window to work out, then you can always do a quick set of core workouts to keep your core tight and active.

Whether it’s a couple of crunches on the bed before you doze off or a few minutes of planking while you watch your favorite show, you can squeeze a decent core workout in almost any situation! Even if it doesn’t feel like much, trust us- it’s better than doing nothing. The list of ab workouts you can do is almost endless, and the best part is that you can do that almost wherever and whenever.
