But have you ever wanted more than to just watch superheroes on screen? Maybe you’ve secretly been wanting to look like a superhero yourself? If you have, then you’re in luck! Tom Holland shared a glimpse of what training like a superhero is like and if you ever wanted to look like Spiderman, then here is a good place to start.

WATCH: Tom Holland talks about his workout with Jake Gyllenhaal

Now we don’t have the exact details of what exercises they did or how they did it, but we can come up with a pretty good sketch of this intense workout session.

Leg Workout

Tom Holland split up his workout with Jake Gyllenhaal into three segments, legs, abs, and cardio. The ab workout and cardio are pretty easy to get a feel for, but the leg workout might be tricky.

Judging by the lean physiques of Tom and Jake, we don’t expect them to have done any heavy squats or deadlifts Instead, we think they probably did a lot of medium weight lifts at high intensity.

We would recommend doing a lot of dumbbell lunges, leg presses, and calf raises for 3 to 5 sets at about 8 to 12 reps each.

Ab Workout

When it comes to ab workouts, there are a lot of variations but it all boils down to a pretty simple equation! High reps + high intensity + determination / time = a solid core

If you’re looking for a specific core workout, then we recommend this “Superhero Abs” routine from Generation Iron! They recommend up to five routines that target your upper and lower abs as well as your obliques, midriff, and general core strength.

Cardio

The part of the workout that Tom goes into the most detail in is the cardio! Going by his story, the two tried to one-up each other more and more, which probably resulted in about more than a few miles at a steep incline.

Now we obviously do not recommend pushing yourself just to prove a point to your workout buddy, but you’ve got a ton of options if you want a great cardio session.

You can go the traditional route and use a treadmill like the two Spiderman co-stars did, but you can also try doing high intensity interval training for a change of pace or even try out a CrossFit class! Whatever you choose, you’re sure to start sweating in no time.
