There’s bacon, spam, and eggs involved.

Maybe you’ve tried it all. Like the thought of another ramen bowl with the ordinary tamago, noodles, pork/chicken broth combination does not excite your taste buds like it used to. Sometimes you’re just feeling a bit more adventurous (or moody) so you’re always craving for something that’s off-menu and unconventional. Lucky you, these restaurants heard your prayers and whipped up some of the most unique bowls of ramen in Manila.

Careful now, this post may just cause you to change your “usual” order.

F.U. Ramen – Wrong Ramen

How can something so wrong feel so right? Wrong Ramen serves one of a kind ramen bowls which are sure to put some ramen traditionalists in a coma. One of their famous offerings is the FU Ramen—Spam, bacon, cheese and fried egg in garlic pepper broth. Gasp!

La Paz Ramen – Oyasumi Ramen

This relatively new ramen place along San Juan knows how to get people’s attention. Oyasumi elevates the Filipino staple, La Paz Batchoy, to a whole new level with their bowl of La Paz ramen which is a “mix of traditional ramen with flavors from smooth pork blood, crunchy chicharon bits and garlic which creates a sinful yet succulent ramen dish.”

Double Cheese Tsukemen – Mistuyado-Seimen

We all have the UCC Group to thank for bringing this international franchise, dubbed as the ‘house of dipped noodles” to the Philippines. Mitsuyado’s Double Cheese Tsukemen is definitely one of the breadwinners of this popular ramen house. There’s parmesan, cheese sauce, and tonkotsu broth involved.

Matcha Ramen – Kissako Uji Matcha Café

Kissako quietly opened its doors last 2014 at the famous Pioneer Center in Pasig, serving mostly matcha-infused drinks, desserts and pastries. As if those weren’t enough, Kissako decided to further surprise us with their matcha ramen. You have to taste it to believe it. Love Matcha? Check this link.

Bulalo Ramen – Aozora Tagaytay

Tagaytay is known for two things: the breezy weather and hot bowls of bulalo soup. Aozora found a way to take this dish 2 steps further for Tagaytay explorers and ended up with a bulalo ramen. Make your next “putok batok” experience worth it.
