10 sticks of everything, please!

Summer is now in full swing in Manila with temperatures rising as high as 39 degrees! That’s heaven for a lot of foreigners but we’re definitely sweating more than we’ll ever admit. There’s no hiding from the heat but there’s definitely a perfect partner for hot weather: barbecued food!

If we have isaw and betamax, the Japanese have yakitori or kushiyaki, and they are as hot as this summer heat! Check out these awesome yakitori-yas around the metro for beautifully grilled skewered meats. P.S. Yakitori is enjoyed best with an iced cold beer.

Izakaya Kikufuji – Little Tokyo

This Japanese favorite in Makati is probably the most popular kushiyaki place in town. Their grilled wagyu cubes are definitely the star of every trip to Kikufuji. Booky Tip: Want to know more about the other restaurants in Little Tokyo? Click here.
